On April 8, 2024, Central Texas — including Coleman — will be treated to a rare and stunning celestial event: a total solar eclipse. The Moon’s dark central shadow, stretching approximately115 miles wide, will commence its journey in Mexico and traverse northeast across Texas before reaching its final destination in the Canadian Maritimes.
On April 8, 2024, the skies above Coleman will darken from 12:15 to 2:56 p.m. CT, with the total eclipse being visible for an incredible five minutes between 1:32 p.m. and 1:37 p.m. This extraordinary event is not to be missed!
In addition to the 2024 total solar eclipse, Coleman will also witness an annular solar eclipse on Saturday, October 14, 2023. During a total solar eclipse, such as the one in 2024, the Moon passes directly between the Sun and Earth, fully obscuring the Sun’s face.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable viewing experience, your reservation for either the October or April event will include eclipse glasses for every member of your party.
